CALGARY, AB: August 22, 2018 – The CEC Board’s primary goal is to build a sustainable organizational platform that provides the necessary support for our deserving high-performance athletes and our growing number of developing high-performance athletes.
In order to help us with this goal, the CEC is pleased to announce that we will be immediately embarking on a Strategic Review initiative with the assistance of Deloitte. We expect this in-depth review to take 4-6 months to complete and will include participation from a broad cross-section of the competition climbing community in Canada.
The Strategic Plan will then be used to determine and create the optimal organizational structure to fulfill our goals. At that time, it is anticipated that the CEC will conduct searches for the permanent positions that will be established within the organization.
In closing, the CEC Board has made significant organizational and operational strides in recent months, but also recognizes that there are many areas within our structure that can be meaningfully improved. The appointment of the two key interim positions and the Strategic Review are important elements as we strive for continuous improvement toward our goals.
