The IFSC World Youth Championships (“WYC”) held every year is the highest level of youth climbing competition. Accordingly, each season the CEC may identify certain youth athletes who are eligible to receive funding from the CEC to support their participation in the WYC and Canadian Team Training Camps. Youth athletes seeking funding will need to demonstrate potential for obtaining top results at international competitions, dedication and other performance metrics that indicate the best chance at achieving results in line with the HP program objectives stated below.
This funding policy also aims to ensure that CEC funded athletes meet the highest standards of conduct that this responsibility requires.
It will be the responsibility of all CEC funded youth athletes to ensure that they comply with this policy and the conditions of funding, including attending required events and training camps, executing all applications and abiding by all applicable terms and conditions by the relevant deadlines.
It is expected that this policy will be reviewed annually as part of the CEC’s High-Performance strategy and amendments may be made to ensure this policy provides the best possible outcomes.
Please check for updates regularly.
