The Technical/Judges Sub-committee was formed to support, advance and codify the development of judging at CEC events across the country. Over the past year, the Sub-committee has developed and implemented a certification program for CEC judges, created a code of conduct for officials and begun the process of creating a data bank of qualified judges who are certified to oversee CEC competitions.
Further, the Sub-committee has developed a process for judges to gain experience and qualifications in order to rise through the judging ranks.
Some changes included this year will see judges at all CEC events certified through Respect in Sport Canada in addition to having completed concussion awareness training. Further, CEC judges must have a valid criminal record check completed and be familiar with all CEC/IFSC rules and regulations before being appointed to any judging position within the CEC.
