Position: Technical Representative for Sport Climbing – 2027 Canada Winter Games

About the Role:
The Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) is excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Technical Representative in preparation for the upcoming 2027 Winter Canada Games, where sport climbing will make its thrilling debut. We are seeking a dynamic individual with deep insight into the world of competitive climbing, ready to contribute to a landmark event in Canadian sports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and advise on venue preparation and layout for optimal climbing experiences.
- Develop and implement efficient competition scheduling that aligns with athlete needs.
- Oversee the integration and management of results systems.
- Establish and maintain competition protocols and procedures.
- Coordinate with major and minor technical officials, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Assess and address facility and equipment needs, ensuring top-notch standards.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Someone with extensive knowledge of competition flow and structure.
- Familiarity with the Canadian Climbing competition landscape is essential.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Passion for sports, particularly climbing, and fostering athlete development.
Position Type: Volunteer (comprehensive support and recognition provided).
Commitment: 3-year engagement with peak periods approaching event dates.
