2021 NACS Richmond – a success for the first NACS in Canada!

Oct 12, 2021

The first North American Cup Series event to take place in Canada was a resounding success! The event was held at the Richmond Olympic Oval, in BC, from October 8 to 10. The athletes competed in Lead on Friday and Saturday, and in Speed on Sunday. It was so amazing to see everyone back on the wall and in the stands. Everyone has experienced the lockdown different ways, and it is great to be able to celebrate our return together!

A massive thank you goes out to our staff and volunteers!

  • Routesetters: Simon Parton (head), Oscar Lanzag (assistant head), Haydon Jones, Alannah Yip
  • Judges: Sebastian Powell (technical delegate), Babak Zia (jury president), Paul Hughes (head judge), Paul Ledet (mentor), and their team
  • Belayers: Melanie Marier (head) and her team
  • Communication team: Rock Digital Marketing – Phillip Quade and Kiley Whittal
  • Richmond Staff: Thomas Lauer (lead) and his team
  • The City of Richmond and the Hosting Grant
  • Spectators – how fun was it to have you back!
  • And all our wonderful volunteers! Thank you!!
