Villars World Cup – 5th stop of the 2021 season

Jul 7, 2021

The fifth World Cup of the 2021 Season took place in Villars, SUI, on July 1-3, 2021. Due to the Government of Canada’s travel restrictions, CEC was unable to send a team to compete at the event. However, individual applications were accepted, and 4 Canadian athletes were given the green light to attend the event.

  • Brothers Oscar and Victor Baudrand competed in the Lead discipline. Oscar finished in 53rd position, while Victor had his best World Cup result ever, concluding the semi-final round in 19th place with a strong score of 29+.
  • Sean Faulkner took part in his first World Cup of 2021, ending in the 54th position, one place behind fellow Canadian Oscar.
  • In Speed, Ethan Pitcher was coming off a strong performance at the May 28th SLC World Cup where he set a new Canadian record (6.54 seconds). Ethan had a respectable performance in Villars punching in at 6.86 seconds to position him in 44th place.

The next World Cup is taking place this weekend, in Chamonix, FRA. This Lead event will see returning Canadian Oscar Baudrand, Victor Baudrand, and Sean Faulkner. Good luck to our athletes!
